The Comedy of Errors in Cheltenham
Propeller will be bringing Cheltenham audiences another taste of the bard’s original work this week, this time in the form of The Comedy of Errors.
In complete contrast to Richard III, another Propeller production of Shakespeare’s work on show at the Everyman Theatre this week, local theatre lovers will also have the chance to see The Comedy of Errors in the town centre venue.
In the small number of performances scheduled to take place from Tuesday 1 to Saturday 5 March 2011, audiences can expect to see the story of two sets of estranged twins, separated at birth, finding themselves in the same city 25 years later with hilarious consequences.
A series of mistaken identities, assumed personas and wild mishaps bring family crisis, so complicated that time itself loses the plot, into heart-warming focus.
Fortunately the Cheltenham audience will be kept one step ahead, in what is described as the bard’s most farcical, and smartest, comedy.
