Raise your voices and enjoy a good old sing song, as local theatre company Rain or Shine bring their anticipated festive romp to Wotton-under-Edge.

Following on from a hugely successful summer tour of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing, professional Gloucester-based Rain or Shine Theatre Company are back to recreate a merry festive season of entertainment – including enigmatic seasonal sing-alongs and music hall madness for Top Hats and Tinsel.

Rain or Shine’s new tour will be taking in venues across Gloucestershire, including Wotton-under-Edge Town Hall on Saturday 3 December 2011, and will be in the style of the popular BBC Television classic The Good Old Days.

Top Hats and Tinsel will give audiences the chance to while away a winter evening celebrating magical moments of melody, mayhem and melodrama. And best of all, you are invited to join in.

The company cordially requests that audience members put on their Victorian glad rags and raise their voices high in celebration of the season.

A highlight of the evening will be the entire cast’s performance of the rumbustious Victorian farce ‘Nursery Chickweed’.

This will be Rain or Shine’s third Christmas show, following their hit productions of A Christmas Carol and The Canterville Ghost which have attracted plenty of glowing reviews. ‘An excellence performance, full of emotion, humour and a touch or magic’, and ‘slick, witty, inventive and superbly costumed’ being just some of the words of praise.
