Henry V in Cheltenham
Audiences are promised a thrilling and deeply moving piece of classic theatre, when Propeller perform Henry V at the Everyman Theatre.
Forming part of a double-show-tour from the acclaimed Propeller theatre company, the Everyman Theatre will be playing host to a modern interpretation of Shakespeare’s Henry V this month.
Performances are scheduled for the evenings of Tuesday 24, Wednesday 25 and Saturday 28, with afternoon matinees on both Friday 27 and Saturday 28 January 2012.
Local theatre fans can expect to enjoy the tale of the greatest British warrior in English folklore. Organisers say that in a time when nationalism is at its most dangerous and exciting, and increasing numbers of British servicemen and women are seeking active service, Propeller is offering its own unique take on one of the Bard’s most famous plays.
Henry V marks the beginning of a journey that takes audiences from the corridors of Westminster to the fields of France in a show of unforgettable power, and is confidently described as both thrilling and deeply moving.
Led by recognised director Edward Hall, the all-male Propeller theatre company is renowned for combining a rigorous approach to the text with an exciting, physical aesthetic – engaging its audience’s imagination and bringing a fresh understanding to classic plays.
Also being performed by Propeller at the Everyman Theatre this month, don’t miss The Winter's Tale.
