Avenue Q at Everyman Theatre
Sesame Street, The Muppet Show and X-rated humour combine during Avenue Q, set to storm the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham.
What do you get when you cross Sesame Street with The Muppet Show, give it an X rating and clap on a government health warning that too much laughter can make your sides ache? Well, according to BBC Radio 2 that’ll be Avenue Q, and Gloucestershire musical fans will be able to see the show for themselves when it storms the Everyman Theatre stage.
After nearly five years of mischief, bad behaviour and political incorrectness, ‘London’s funniest show by far’ is hitting the road and treading the boards at the Cheltenham theatre from Monday 13 to Saturday 18 February 2012.
The Tony Award-winning Avenue Q is touted as an irresistibly charming musical about the lovably hopeless characters of a downtown New York street trying to make sense of life’s burning issues; love, work, relationships and, above all, just how are you supposed to pay the bills with a degree in English?
Uproariously entertaining, with a terrific batch of songs performed by a cast of talented performers and puppets, Avenue Q is touted as a musical like no other.
Containing adult language and humour, banish those winter blues and book tickets for what the Sunday Express described as a ‘hip, happening, adult puppet musical with a difference’.
