On Friday 11 May 2012, an exhilarating show – combining thundering rhythms, a visually spellbinding display of grace, precise choreography and sheer athleticism – is promised to audiences at the Roses Theatre once again, when the Mugenkyo Taiko Drummers return to Tewkesbury for one night only.
Having been trained by elite Japanese Taiko masters, Mugenkyo – the UK’s first and only professional touring Taiko group – has developed a breathtaking modern drumming style, using everything from huge Taiko drums to delicate shinobue bamboo flutes, to create a unique show fit for all the family.
Mugenkyo – meaning limitless reverberation – perform more than 100 concerts a year, including appearing at the South Bank in London, the Brit Awards, BBC’s Last Night of the Proms, and at Glastonbury Festival.
With a brand new summer tour taking to venues across the UK this summer, combining classic Mugenkyo favourites as well as new compositions and arrangements, now audiences in Gloucestershire have another chance to see why their show is in so much demand.
