Comedy fans are expected to raise the Cheltenham Town Hall roof with laughter on Tuesday 2 October 2012, when Scottish funnyman Danny Bhoy takes to the stage with his brand new show Dear Epson.
Said to be a combination of both a stand-up and breakdown show, Dear Epson revolves around letters that Bhoy has written in frustration to various companies and figureheads, and the mixed results that came with them.
Arguably one of the most travelled comedians of today, the half-Indian, half Scotsman has built a huge worldwide fan base since starting out in 1998, notably in Australia, New Zealand and Canada, following continuous tours of record-breaking shows, including 2011’s Messenger (Please Don’t Shoot) – and he is no doubt hoping for a raucous reception from the Cheltenham crowd.
Describing Dear Epson, Danny said: ‘A few years back, I launched a campaign (wrote some letters) which successfully saw the return of Roast Beef Monster Munch to our supermarket shelves. You’re welcome.
‘It’s a show about those little annoyances. Too frivolous to be a cause. Too inconsequential to be a campaign. But just about right for that couple from Berwick-Upon-Tweed who come to the Edinburgh Fringe every year.’
