Comedy fans across the county can look forward to another rib-tickling evening of stand-up on Saturday 5 May 2012, when Gloucester Guildhall is set to host its popular Big Laugh Café – this time featuring Ian D Montfort and guests.
Ian D Montfort is the character created by British writer and funnyman, Tom Binns. Ian is a hapless, Geordie psychic who specialises in speaking to dead celebrities and passing on messages to the audience from beyond – an act said to be both hilarious and surprisingly accurate at the same time.
Comedian Binns is sure to impress the Cheltenham audience, having already received five star reviews from the likes of the Telegraph and Time Out for his shows, including his best-known character, radio DJ Ivan Brackenbury.
Joining him on the bill will be Chortle Best Newcomer award-winner Holly Walsh, who boasts recent appearances on television shows Mock the Week, Never Mind the Buzzcocks and 8 Out of 10 Cats.
What’s more, comedy circuit favourite Richard Morton, who has warmed crowds up in the past for the likes of Jack Dee and Jo Brand, will be hoping that his chummy persona and comic songs keep the Cheltenham audience in high spirits throughout the evening.
Visitors can expect the usual comfortable table seating, hot food and drinks offers, rounded off with a slightly inebriated disco at the end of what’s expected to be a scream of a night.
