Fresh off the back of its popular and stunning rendition of Madam Butterfly in 2011, Mid Wales Opera will be returning to Tewkesbury’s Roses Theatre on Tuesday 2 October 2012 with its brand new production, Don Giovanni.
Set to kick off with a pre-show talk with director Martin Lloyd-Evans at 6.45pm, theatre-goers can look forward to discovering the secrets behind producing the classic and highly-regarded Mozart opera.
Organisers said: ‘In the tense world of Don Giovanni, human passion is exposed in this tragic tale of love, lust, betrayal and revenge. This exciting production sees the Don duck and dive but despite his gallant efforts, he cannot escape his fate.
‘With dramatic music, both overpowering and seductive, and full of well known melodies given an up to date twist, this brand new production is bound to set your heart racing…’
Coming up at number seven on the Operabase list of the most-performed operas worldwide, don’t miss the chance to see Don Giovanni for yourself in the cosy setting of the Roses.
