Some of Gloucester’s greatest entertainers will be brought together once again for the Mayor’s BiG Variety Show, taking place at The Picturedrome Theatre on Friday 31 August 2012.
Being held in aid of the Mayor, Councillor David Brown’s chosen charities Carers Gloucestershire and The Family Haven, organisers are hoping for an impressive turn-out to raise money for these worthy causes.
Families can look forward to traditional variety entertainment from the likes of comedian Nik Hill, ventriloquist Kieran Powell, singer Sarah-Jane Byczok and more to be confirmed.
Literature lovers are sure to enjoy poetry lined up alongside drama, favourites from the legendary Gilbert and Sullivan, and there will even be a spot of belly dancing to boot.
As well as helping the two local charities through ticket sales, visitors will also be supporting the Believe in Gloucester campaign, which celebrates all that is great about Gloucester and develops practical actions for the city to realise its full potential.
Mayor Brown said in advance of the show: ‘I’m sure we will go from belly laughs to belly dancers with a great mix of other entertainment in between.
