The original rock’n’roll comic, Steve Hughes, will be taking over Cheltenham Town Hall on Sunday 21 October 2012, hoping to have the crowd in stitches with his brand new show, entitled Big Issues.
Fresh off the back of a spate of sell-out shows at the Sydney and Melbourne Comedy Festivals, Hughes will be taking his eagerly-awaited debut tour around the UK, stopping off at the comedy hub of Cheltenham along the way.
The inimitable Australian comedian and ex-heavy metal drummer has already proved popular amongst British comedy fans, having impressed with laugh-a-minute appearances on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Channel 4’s Stand Up for the Week and Dave’s One Night Stand, gaining him plaudits from the critics, including the Times who described his style as ‘hard-edged social commentary at its best’.
Cheltenham comedy fans can expect an evening of intelligent, straight-talking acrobatic wit about the big issues of the world – from the Palestinian-Israeli conflict to political correctness – that’s highly original, often outspoken and definitely unmissable.
