The ‘sci-curious’ of Gloucestershire are expected to descend upon Cheltenham Town Hall on Wednesday 31 October 2012 for an evening of outrageous geekery when the Festival of the Spoken Nerd takes to the stage for one night only.
Described as ‘a celebration of science, comedy and unashamed geekiness, with live experiments, audience participation, specially selected guest scientists and comedy headliners’ by organisers, the show has toured comedy venues and science festivals across the country, and went down a treat with Cheltenham Science Festival-goers both in 2011 and 2012.
Presented by stand-up mathematician Matt Parker, geek songstress Helen Arney and experiments guy Steve Mould, the Town Hall audience can expect a unique mix of facts and fun, interactive experiments and to find out the answers to lifelong questions such as how can you use a parabola to set stuff on fire; how does the angler fish make love; and how dangerous can things get with just numbers?
Are you a closet nerd or just looking to learn a few fun facts to impress at the next pub quiz? Either way, don’t miss the highly-anticipated Festival of the Spoken nerd when it returns to Cheltenham for what’s expected to be another sell-out success.
