Win tickets to see Our Country's Good

Ends Monday 1 October 2012

Win one of five pairs of tickets to see the Olivier award-winning drama, Our Country’s Good, when it opens at Cheltenham’s Everyman Theatre.

The Out of Joint theatre company will be making a welcome return to Cheltenham’s Everyman Theatre this autumn, with a brand new production of Our Country’s Good – and five lucky SoGlos readers are in with the chance of winning a pair of tickets to the opening night on Tuesday 9 October 2012.

The London-based company’s previous visits to the Cheltenham theatre went down a storm with local audiences when it presented The Convict’s Opera in 2009 and Top Girls earlier this year, so no doubt it will be hoping for a similar reception with Our Country’s Good, which will run until Saturday 13 October 2012.

The Timberlake Wertenbaker drama won Play of the Year at the 1988 Olivier Awards and tells the true story of the first convict colony in Australia, the value of the theatre and the redemptive power of art, according to organisers.

It follows an ambitious young lieutenant in 1789, Ralph Clark, who is set the task of directing new convicts in the comedy The Recruiting Officer, to celebrate the King’s birthday.

But Ralph faces a series of obstacles along the way that spell trouble, so find out if the show does indeed go on only at the Everyman Theatre.

For more information see Our Country’s Good at Everyman Theatre.

Tickets to Our Country’s Good range from £10 to £25 and are available to buy from the Everyman Theatre box office by calling (01242) 572573 or visiting everymantheatre.org.uk directly.
