Cirencester’s newly opened venue, The Barn Theatre, welcomes audiences to its first professional production of The Secret Garden, a Tony award-winning musical based on Frances Hodgson Burnett’s best-loved book.

Running at the Cotswold theatre from Friday 16 March, with extended dates to Saturday 28 April 2018, the enchanting musical tells the tale of Mary Lennox, a young girl who’s sent to England to live with her only remaining relatives, following the death of her parents in India.

Greeted by a mournful and secluded house and bedridden boy, Colin, Mary finds hope and happiness when she decides to revive the beauty of her aunt’s neglected secret garden.

A production by Pulitzer prize winner Marsha Norman with a musical score by Lucy Simon, The Secret Garden promises a powerful performance and inspiring story, with special effects and puppetry offering an innovative and exciting adaptation of a classic.
