Cheltenham Playhouse is a community theatre that offers an intimate setting for enjoying musicals, plays, music performances, films and much more, with a varied programme that caters for all ages.

The theatre is housed in an impressive former spa dating back to the 19th century, which was transformed for its current use in 1957, and since 2001 has been a registered charity run by a committed team of volunteers.

In addition to its diverse line-up of events, including productions from local theatre companies, Cheltenham Playhouse hosts a range of courses and workshops, spanning dance sessions, mum and baby groups, and classes at the Theatre Studio performing arts school.

The theatre’s Lounge Bar is open for coffee at matinee shows and 45 minutes before evening performances and during intervals, when ice-creams are also served.

The Green Room Bar is open to all theatre-goers immediately following evening shows and also hosts the OFF THE CUFF improvised comedy nights on the third Sunday of every month.

Cheltenham Playhouse’s auditorium can be hired by theatre companies or for conference use depending on availability, while there are also a number of meeting and rehearsal rooms for hire from Monday to Friday.

For more information, call (01242) 522852, email or visit directly.
