Graphic designer vacancy

SoPublishing is expanding and urgently requires a graphic designer to join the team at its Cheltenham town centre-based HQ, including a range of work for its award winning online magazines SoGlos and SoGlosWeddings.

Based on Cheltenham’s prestigious Imperial Square, we produce two market-leading titles, the award-winning arts and entertainment flagship, SoGlos, and Gloucestershire’s first online wedding magazine, SoGlosWeddings – reaching a phenomenal combined audience of more than 110,000 readers, 35,000 newsletter subscribers and 34,000 social media followers every month.

About the role

As graphic designer you will take on an exciting range of online and offline assignments including:

• Creating new concepts for clients’ advertising campaigns
• Updating clients’ digital advertising on an ongoing basis
• Creating new concepts for SoGlos/SoGlosWeddings’ own online and offline marketing
• Creating and updating internal and external documents
• Social media portfolio and post designs

The role is fast-paced and will require you to work to very tight deadlines, liaising with team members and clients, and using your own initiative to respond to both detailed and loose briefs.

About you

You are a career-driven individual who lives and breathes design, and would thrive as part of a creative team working in an exciting online magazine publishing environment. You will require the following skills and experience:

• Digital design experience
• Print media design experience
• Proven ability to produce creative designs
• Great eye for detail
• Awareness of current standards and industry trends
• Expert skills in the use of Adobe Creative Suite
• Experience in working with typography and images
• Basic knowledge of html is not required, but would be an advantage

Pay and perks

• This is a part-time role and will be on a freelance basis
• Rate of pay will be dependent on experience
