SGGLA has taken the Gloucestershire businesses community and social media by storm.
SoGlos’s new awards and flagship event launched with a bang in 2018, with exciting nomination and public voting phases followed by a thrilling awards evening at Blackfriars Priory in Gloucester – attended by 300 Gloucestershire business representatives, sponsors, partners and special guests. The SGGLA reputation for a new kind of awards quickly spread across the county.
Sensational businesses of all shapes and sizes, new or long established, which are based in Gloucestershire or the surrounding area and fit with one of the categories are invited to enter. In addition to amazing individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to Gloucestershire through their work in the charity, sport or community arena as part of the ‘Hero of the Year’ category.
Visit this page during the nomination phase, opening in January 2020. Nominations must be made by an official representative of the business who will be the point of contact through the process (unless you are making a nomination for Hero of the Year, which can be done by anyone).
No, but you can recommend your favourite business enters for themselves. Send them a link to this page.
The panel of judges will be made up of members of the SoPublishing team. They’ll be looking at each nominee’s application, as well as their website and social media, and also drawing upon first-hand experiences to create the shortlist which then goes to public vote. We will be ensuring only the very best quality nominees make it through to the public vote, with a tighter shortlisted expected for SGGLA 2020. Please note, SoGlos advertisers won’t be given preferential treatment.
The voting process will open for around six weeks in March/April 2020, when members of the public will have their chance to make one top choice from any or all of the categories. Voting will exclusively take place via soglos.com/awards, and can be done via desktop computers, laptops, tablets or mobile phones.
Please email email@example.com with any requests or feedback for 2020.
Yes, please feel free to enter any category which fits your business.
Glory and fame! Plus, a coveted trophy to display at their business, as well as a winner’s certificate, official winner badge to use on their website, and editorial support on SoGlos, its email newsletter and social media channels.
Yes, but there will also be a highly commended business per category, which will receive a certificate and official badge to use on their website too. All finalists will also receive an official certificate.
The number and quality of entrants is expected to be higher than ever in 2020, so our judges will be looking for businesses which have a strong chance of winning their category.
Forget stuffy awards events and sit down dinners. Instead, expect a relaxed party atmosphere complete with a chance to meet other businesses and network, supper and drinks on arrival, before the live reveal kicks off at 8pm. This informal structure is at the core of the SGGLA success, having caught the attention of the county’s businesses and SoGlos readers.
The headline sponsor will receive six tickets, while partners, category sponsors and shortlisted businesses will each receive two tickets.
To make SGGLA as inclusive as possible for all the shortlisted businesses, sponsors and partners – and to work within the size limitations of the special venues we’re working with each year – numbers are very limited and we are unlikely to be able to offer addition tickets.
Spacing is limited for seating so we are only able to reserve a table for the headline sponsor.
