Developer St. Modwen Logistics has been hired by high-flying Gloucestershire firm ProCook to build it a new 167,000 square foot headquarters and warehouse in the county – with access to a running track, gym and restaurant.

The SGGBA-winning kitchenware retailer was started 25 years ago by Daniel O’Neill and recently announced a second year of 30 per cent-plus growth, taking turnover to £53.4 million and profits from £25.4 million to £36.6 million.

Its latest plans will see the firm – which already occupies more than 95,000 square feet of space across two buildings at St. Modwen’s Gateway 12 Business Park in Quedgeley – move its operations and 200 staff under one roof.

When the new building is complete, staff at ProCook, which was ranked among the UK’s best workplaces in 2022 by Great Place to Work, will have access to outdoor exercise equipment, a running track, outdoor eating spaces, an indoor gym and a full canteen.

St. Modwen Logistics is working with Benniman Construction Group on the new building, which will deliver a BREEAM Excellent and EPC A rating, helping ProCook to achieve its sustainability targets, too.

Polly Troughton, managing director at St. Modwen Logistics, said: ‘ProCook has experienced rapid growth over the last 10 years and this warehouse will further support its commitment to growth, sustainability and employee wellbeing’.

Steve Sanders, chief operating officer at ProCook, which was floated on the stock market in November 2021, sells online and has a chain of high street shops including one at Gloucester Quays, said: ‘Our move to a new, much larger premises reflects ProCook’s success story over the past few years and we’re excited to move in’.
