Pirates Weekend at Gloucester Docks photo gallery

Gloucester Docks was the setting for two days of swashbuckling festivities during the Pirates Weekend. See the event in pictures thanks to readers.

One year on from the magnificent Tall Ships Festival which took over Gloucester Docks in 2007, the inaugural Pirates Weekend proved a firm favourite when it arrived at the historic attraction on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 October 2008.

While’s preview of the two-day event was one of the online magazine’s most popular articles in October, a staggering 10,000 visitors are reported to have attended by organisers – with swashbuckling action in the stunning location keeping everyone entertained.

With thanks to readers Steve Darch, Dom Stevens and Gill Stevens, see the photo gallery for highlights from this fantastic Gloucester event…
