7 reasons to have a scan with Early Life Ultrasound Centre

Providing the chance to connect with your little one before it arrives, Cheltenham's Early Life Ultrasound Centre offers a host of baby scans through every stage of pregnancy.

There’s nothing like seeing the magical first glimpse of your baby on a scan, with Cheltenham’s Early Life Ultrasound Centre offering a range of 3D and 4D scans that are suitable to have throughout your pregnancy journey.

If you’re thinking of having additional scans between your routine NHS 12 and 20-week scans, clinic manager and obstetric manager, Chrissie Cooper, shares seven reasons to book an appointment at Early Life Ultrasound Centre.

1. A warm welcome

As soon as expectant parents step through the door of the welcoming clinic, located opposite Cheltenham Town Hall, they are greeted with a calming spa-like atmosphere.

The experienced team, which consists of two receptionists, three sonographers and one midwife, takes time to ensure mums-to-be and their partners have a proper introduction before enjoying the chance to get better acquainted with their babies.

2. Spacious surroundings

The spacious rooms at Early Life Ultrasound Centre ensure that everyone can have a good view during the scan, with one large screen and a large projector screen, along with soft lighting and comfortable sofas for guests.

You can also expect privacy at the clinic, with a maximum of two families in at any one time so you won’t have to queue.

3. Wide variety of scans

Whether you want to have an early scan before your 12-week hospital appointment, a gender reveal prior to finding out the sex at your 20-week scan, or a growth check later in your pregnancy, Early Life Ultrasound Centre offers a range of different scans to suit your needs.

Packages span Early Pregnancy & Reassurance, Gender, 3D and 4D, and Well-being, Reassurance and Pre-Natal Tests, and can be carried out from seven to 40 weeks, with the team equipped with a deep understanding of the emotions involved at the different stages of development.

4. Families and children welcome

Couples can bring up to six seated guests for the scan, while there’s the option to have more people present if they are happy to stand. Children are welcome to attend the scans, and often it’s a nice way for older siblings to bond with the baby before it arrives.

5. Qualified sonographers

Parents-to-be can expect a professional service from Early Life Ultrasound Centre, which is a Care Quality Commission-registered and regulated clinic and a registered member of the British Medical Ultrasound Society.

The friendly and medically qualified sonographers have all undergone specialist training, enabling them to fully explain the ultrasound process during the scans. While they aren’t looking for any abnormalities during scans, sonographers will refer you to your midwife or GP if they spot anything unusual.

6. Advanced technology

The clinic benefits from offering a state-of-the-art ultrasound system for its scans, while it uses HD Live 4D technology to ensure the clearest animated images of your baby in the womb.

7. Personalised mementos

Depending on the package you opt for, you’ll get to receive a 4D moving scan and 3D prints to take home with you on the day, offering a timeless souvenir during what is a special and memorable time.

There is also a selection of personalised accessories to choose from, including handmade picture frames where you can display your precious snaps, heartbeat bears, and key rings and fridge magnets featuring pictures of your little one.

And, if you want to surprise family and friends with the baby’s sex, you can also purchase gender reveal scratch cards and confetti balloons that offer a fun way to break the news!
