Running from Saturday 29 June to Saturday 21 September 2019, The Moon Exhibition promises to be a real highlight in the 50th anniversary year of the Moon landings.

Examples of some of the stunning exhibits on display will be an inflatable three-metre Moon, maps and newspapers from the day of the Moon landings, lunar rock samples, replica models of rockets, modules and computers and even a replica space suit.

But that’s not all, as visitors will also find an entertaining and interactive programme of events for all the family, including music and dance, poetry and storytelling, art and culture, talks and lectures, virtual reality sessions, quiet time at the museum and private tours.

Plus, watch out for the special Moon Cinema Saturday, showing a selection of space-themed films over the exhibition season this summer, for adults and kids alike!

Children’s activities at The Moon Exhibition

There are so many things for kids to do from dressing up in space costumes to sitting down for some moon-themed storytelling. Little ones can get creative in the Crafty Corner, designing their own planet or making paper rockets.
Even better, children can get stuck in with some lunar rock handling or join in with an interactive session where author, Graham Jones takes children back to 1960 to help the Americans race to the moon in and educational adventure.

Other activities at The Moon Exhibition

For adults, there will be spaced-themed creative writing workshops, art sessions and fascinating talks about how the moon impacts The Severn Bore, and the mythical meaning behind the moon.
