Taking art lovers on a guided journey across Gloucestershire's Regency town, the Cheltenham Open Studios Art Trail is a unique exhibition showing from Saturday 10 to Sunday 18 June 2023.
Now in its 13th year, the popular event last took place in 2021 and saw over 10,000 art fans visit the exhibition spaces – with this year's event expected to be even bigger and more diverse than ever.
A record 82 venues in Cheltenham are exhibiting work from more than 200 visual artists, including shared spaces, shops and restaurants, such as trendy clothing store TOAST on the Promenade and fine dining restaurant, Jonas at GL50.
The trail begins at The Gardens Gallery in Montpellier Gardens, where visitors can pick up a free guidebook, featuring handpicked highlights for local independent cafés and restaurants to visit along the trail; as well as check out the taster exhibition.
Cheltenham Open Studios artists are also showcasing pieces from their very own homes, workshops and studio spaces, offering the chance to speak to the creators and get a real insight into their practices.
Plus, take an exclusive peek at the artists of the future, with work from art and design university students, graduates and course leaders on display at the Quad Gallery at The University of Gloucestershire campus, Francis Close Hall.
Guests can also have a go at making their own art with drop-in workshops at venues including Pittville Park, which is hosting activities for aspiring and enthusiastic artists of all ages.
