The Wilson will launch a unique exhibition Fake: The Great Reveal, this summer, an engaging showcase to change the way you look at art.

Offering an innovative exhibition which will challenge the way you look at art, The Wilson’s newest showcase, Fake: The Great Reveal, will run from Saturday 17 June to Sunday 15 October 2017.

The anticipated exhibition is inspired by Sky Arts TV’s Fake! The Great Masterpiece Challenge, which switched priceless masterpieces with specially-made copies at art galleries and museums around the country, challenging members of the public to see if they could suss out the fakes.

Set to challenge local art lovers, The Wilson’s exhibition will feature seven of the phony paintings, which will be displayed together for the first time, with visitors challenged to spot which are authentic, and which are fake.

Promising an insightful experience, Fake: The Great Reveal offers the unique opportunity to engage with a number of crafty masterpieces which have been created by leading copyists, such as John Myatt, the art forger behind what Scotland Yard called ‘the biggest art fraud of the 20th century.’
