Take a trip back in time and discover Gloucester’s remarkable history through spectacular 3D artworks this summer 2021.

Artist Joe Hill, of 3D Joe and Max, will be returning to the city from Friday 30 July to Sunday 1 August 2021 when he will be creating three amazing optical illusions based on Gloucester’s heritage.

The creations will bring the city’s past to life as part of the National Archaeology Festival and will be part of eight pieces of artwork set out along Westgate Street and Eastgate Street – with an exhibition and consultation event running at 21 Westgate Street too.

This comes after a successful event in September 2020. Councillor Richard Cook, leader of Gloucester City Council, said: ‘I’m pleased to hear Joe Hill has decided to return to the city to showcase more of his incredible artwork.

‘This is a fantastic way of bringing Gloucester’s rich history to life in anticipation of our upcoming restoration project, which is helping to preserve that history for future generations.’

The artworks will be revealed on Friday 30 July 2021 and will be on display until Sunday 1 August 2021, between 11am and 4.30pm on the Saturday and 11am and 4pm on the Sunday.

Keep an eye on the weather as the event will be re-scheduled if there is high wind or heavy rain.
