Ellenborough Park launches The BFG Afternoon Tea

In celebration of this summer's release of The BFG, Cheltenham's five-star hotel, Ellenborough Park has launched a literary-inspired Afternoon Tea paying tribute to the iconic children's story.

Beloved children’s book, The BFG is being brought to life at Ellenborough Park this summer with the launch of its Roald Dahl-themed Afternoon Tea, coinciding with the anticipated release of the new Steven Spielberg film.

The Roald Dahl Afternoon Tea has been devised by the five-star hotel’s executive head chef, David Kelman, who has created a dreamy selection of teatime treats inspired by the classic literary tale.

Diners can enjoy tucking into the BFG’s favourite snack, the Snozzcumber, a cucumber flavoured sponge cake; along with the Dream Catcher Horn, a crunchy brandy snap filled with mascarpone cream; and Dreams in a Jar, a zesty lemon and raspberry posset.

The innovative afternoon tea is also served with Frobscottle, a green bubbly raspberry and vanilla-flavoured drink, along with a selection of loose leaf tea, while there’s also the option to add a chilled glass of Champagne for the ultimate indulgence.

The BFG Afternoon Tea is available from Monday 18 July to Wednesday 31 August 2016, priced at £22 per person from Monday to Thursday, and £25 on Friday to Sunday.
