It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at The Maytime Inn near Burford, as it launches its new winter menu with traditional festive favourites and its very own Christmas cake infused-gin.

Made with locally sourced produce wherever possible, the new winter menu includes a game terrine with fig and pear chutney; beetroot tart tatin; and cured salmon to start, with main courses including roast turkey parcel with pigs in blankets; roasted partridge with spinach and parsnip tart; wild boar burger; and beer battered haddock.

There is also a selection of small plates for nibbles, as well as sharing boards including festive favourite baked camembert, topped with chilli, honey and toasted nuts.

As well as a traditional Christmas pudding served with brandy sauce, the winter dessert menu also features a chocolate fondant cake; treacle tart with clotted cream; cardamom crème brûlée; and lemon profiteroles with white chocolate sauce.

Adding to its range of over 150 gins, The Maytime Inn has even made its own Christmas cake gin, as well as creating a selection of seasonal cocktails including a Christmas spiced negroni and a toffee and vodka espresso martini – perfect for after-dinner drinks.

The Maytime Inn will be open for festive dining throughout December, closed in the evening on Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day and closed for the day on Christmas Day.
