C-Side is Cowley Manor’s award-winning spa, open as both a residential spa for hotel guests, and as a destination day and evening spa for visitors.
SoGlos jumped at the chance to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life by sampling a treatment and testing out the facilities at Cowley Manor's award-winning C-Side Spa.
Cocooned in the luxurious setting of Cowley Manor Hotel lies its award-winning C-Side Spa, offering a haven of relaxation in the heart of the Cotswold countryside yet just a short drive from Cheltenham.
Cowley Manor’s C-Side Spa offers an oasis of calm and provides an instant injection of much-needed R&R as soon as you walk through the glass doors, catch a whiff of the fragrant Green & Spring products and lay your eyes on the pools and inviting sun loungers.
Guests and spa-seekers wearing fluffy white robes and reading magazines are draped on loungers by the side of the indoor and outdoor pools – and there’s a look of pure relaxation on their faces that shows just how much of a tonic the spa is! I for one can’t wait to have that post-treatment glow and take a dip in the pool.
As I’m expecting a baby, I decided to try one of the pre-natal treatments that use Pinks Boutique products, a completely natural and organic brand that is safe to be used on pregnant women.
C-Side had recently launched its pregnancy treatments in conjunction with Pinks Boutique so my visit was perfectly timed to take advantage of them. I opted for the 60-minute pregnancy facial that’s designed to restore hydration and natural balance, which I hoped would give my skin the pep-up it had been craving.
With soothing music gently playing in the background, my therapist Laura began by taking off my make-up before applying a gently exfoliating rosehip scrub which she then removed with steaming hot mitts. After a facial massage that targeted pulse points, Laura applied a face mask and then massaged my chest, shoulder and scalp, which was truly blissful and definitely sent me to sleep!
The treatment finished with Laura applying Pinks Boutique’s award-winning Anti-Ageing Serum, which she told me is brimming with antioxidant oils and can also be used on the body. It’s safe to say that by the end I felt very Zen; my skin looked lovely and perky, and definitely felt baby soft.
After my treatment, I made my way to the poolside and spent a blissful hour reading on a lounger and dipping in and out of the pool. Sadly it was raining so I didn’t take advantage of the outdoor pool, but I imagine on a sunny day that it’s the perfect spot to soak up the sunshine and catch some rays.
There’s also a steam room and sauna that my husband took advantage of, and if you’re feeling energetic, you can have a workout in the gym before heading home or retreating back to your hotel room.
With a range of spa days, many including lunch or afternoon tea alongside pampering, there are plenty of reasons to retreat to the C-Side, whether it’s for a special occasion or just the chance to savour a bit of me-time. And, you can also purchase products, including Cowley Manor’s own Green & Spring range, to create a spa experience when you get home.
Whether you fancy a relaxing massage, rejuvenating facial or detoxifying scrub, you’re spoilt for choice with the range of treatments, along with dedicated mum-to-be and men’s treatments.
