Conducted by Adrian Lucas, The City of Birmingham Choir is set to delight audiences at Gloucester Cathedral with its delightful performance of Monteverdi’s Vespers.

Promising an unmissable concert on Saturday 23 June 2018, the choir will be joined by the period instrument ensembles, QuintEssential Sackbut and Cornett Ensemble; and the Musical and Amicable Society.

Known for his revolutionary musical ideas that bridge the Renaissance and Baroque eras and remain remarkable to this day, Monteverdi’s Vespers is an iconic piece, with the Gloucester concert offering the rare opportunity to hear it within a magnificent setting.

The City of Birmingham Choir’s performance will feature inspiring soloists and period instrumental ensembles, promising a concert that delivers one of the great pillars of the Baroque repertoire.
