When guests celebrate at the forthcoming SoGlos Gloucestershire Lifestyle Awards 2021, they will be able to toast the occasion with beer from one of Gloucestershire’s finest breweries.
Cheltenham headquartered Battledown Brewery has been revealed as the official drinks partner for the anticipated event, alongside single malt whiskey, gin and sherry maker Cotswold Distillery.
The Willans LLP-sponsored annual awards are a chance to celebrate some of the very best lifestyle sector businesses from across the county, and they will be a chance to celebrate for Battledown too.
‘It has been an extraordinarily difficult time coping through the pandemic. We lost 95 per cent of our customers,’ said Roland Elliott-Berry, a director at Battledown Brewing Company.
It was a time to re-evaluate the business, which introduced free home delivery, underwent major investment in its equipment and moved to new premises at Coxhorne Farm off London Road in Cheltenham.
‘It was a monumental task, but worth it. It gives us the capacity to produce any beer we want,’ said Mr Elliott-Berry.
The move to the farm also sees it now able to use spring water from the Cotswold hills behind its property, giving it every right to call its beers was ‘pure, liquid Gloucestershire’.
‘It will be great to be part of the SGGLA awards – to meet people again. We plan to do a lot more events, not just to sell beer – but to be involved. Just shaking hands with people again is good. It is amazing how much we have missed it,’ said Mr Elliott-Berry.
The annual SoGlos Gloucestershire Lifestyle Awards are the definitive awards of their kind, each year recognising and celebrating the very best lifestyle sector businesses in and around the county – with all winners chosen by public vote.
SGGLA 2021 is due to take place on Thursday 21 October 2021 at Cheltenham Ladies’ College.
