Enthusiastic swimmers have the chance to go on a memorable journey in one of the UK’s most picturesque swimming spots, when Swim For Life hosts its summertime swims in the Wye Valley.
Taking place on Saturdays 24 June, 15 July, 2 September and 23 September 2017, the Wye Valley Swims take groups out into the waters, following a scenic route along the river, with guidance from two highly competent swimmers to ensure maximum safety.
Guide leader, Edward, is an ASA level two swimming teacher, a Shaw Method swim teacher, and also a qualified rescue scuba diver, with first-aid training and years of experience.
Organised by Gloucestershire-based business Swim For Life, which is designed to help adults of all levels improve their swimming skills, the exciting summer events promise an amazing experience in the great outdoors.

For enthusiastic swimmers and sporty types, there is little that compares to the freedom and beauty of a wild swim, which takes the experience out of a typical pool and into nature.
Participants can be assured of the upmost safety, with one experienced swimmer leading the group, and one at the back. What’s more, with a maximum of eight swimmers per group, close attention is guaranteed.
Approximately 2.6miles, the downstream route weaves through the picturesque setting, and is suitable for those with little or no wild swimming experience who want to try something new!
The unique Wild Swimming events take place within some of the country’s most magical locations, with the Wye Valley providing an ideal location for Gloucestershire groups.
With the river running through an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the route is sure to offer something completely unique, and conveniently right on our doorstep.
The Wild Swimming is dedicated to providing its guests with an experience to remember and includes a tasty barbecue lunch – or an alternative dependent on weather.
Perfect for keeping fuelled after the swimming fun, the lunch gives swimmers the chance to rest, feast on delicious food, and socialise with the rest of the group.
