Theatre fans, Shakespeare lovers, and happy families can all look forward to enjoyable alfresco performances at Painswick Rococo Garden this summer, during a series of Open-air Theatre events.

Taking place on selected dates between Friday 30 June and Monday 28 August 2017, the entertaining performances encompass Shakespeare, children’s favourites, and a timeless comedy, offering something for everyone.

As You Like It – The Handlebards Ladies

Friday 30 June and Saturday 1 July 2017

The theatre company known for touring the country on bikes, The Handlebards’ ladies will perform Shakespeare’s classic comedy, As You Like It.

A story of love and mistaken identity, the play follows Rosalind and Orlando, who have been forced into exile in the Forest of Arden, with plenty of chaos and comedy sure to delight audiences.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream – The Handlebards Gents

The Handlebards’ gents will bring Shakespeare’s magical comedy A Midsummer Night's Dream to life on the Bowling Green in the heart of Rococo Garden.

Blending magic, mischief and mayhem, the story follows four young lovers who are put under a fairy’s spell; with a parallel tale of a group of amateur actors who attempt to put on a play.

IK Productions will transport audiences into a magical world during its brand new adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s best-loved story Alice In Wonderland.

An imaginative retelling of a classic, adults and children alike can enjoy going on an enchanting adventure, meeting curious characters, and having plenty of fun along the way.

Jerome K Jerome’s timeless comedy will be brought to life by IK Productions, telling the tale of three men and a dog, and their adventures on the Thames.

Audiences can set sail with the trio, who come into contact with a number of people, places, and peculiar illnesses along the way, with hilarity ensuing.
