The ‘sexiest musical ever’ is coming to Cheltenham for the first time, with Chicago on stage at the Everyman Theatre in February 2022.

The longest running American musical in Broadway and West End history, and surprisingly being performed professionally in Gloucestershire for the first time, Chicago will be lighting up the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham from 28 February to 5 March 2022.

Set amidst the razzle-dazzle decadence of the roaring 20s and dubbed the ‘sexiest musical ever’, the sizzling 2022 stage show will star Coronation Street actress Faye Brookes as Roxie Hart – a nightclub dancer who murders her lover after he threatens to walk out on her.

‘Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media and her rival cellmate, Velma
Kelly, by hiring Chicago’s slickest lawyer to transform her malicious crime into a barrage of sensational headlines, the likes of which might just as easily be ripped from today’s tabloids,’ according to organisers.

The sassy Chicago score includes memorable show tunes ‘Razzle Dazzle’; ‘Cell Block Tango’ and ‘All That Jazz’, and has scooped six Tony Awards, two Olivier Awards and a Grammy – with tickets likely to sell-out for such an anticipated musical debut.
