The Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham is undoubtedly one of Gloucestershire’s finest entertainment venues, playing host to an eclectic line-up of ballet, opera, drama, dance, comedy and music events – not to mention its annual family-favourite pantomime.

The theatre’s main auditorium, designed by the reputed Frank Matcham, is an architectural masterpiece which has inspired generations of performers who have taken to the stage during its illustrious history, dating back to 1891.

For those who want to discover more about the Victorian theatre, the Everyman runs backstage tours of the auditorium, offering the chance to get up close to the stage, wings and dressing rooms, and hear exciting tales about ghosts and the theatre’s rich history.

Throughout the year the historic town-centre theatre also hosts numerous community projects, educational workshops and productions from The Everyman Youth Theatre, which partners with The Gloucestershire Youth Theatre Company to offer first-class training.

Whether you’re attending a performance or just want to enjoy a relaxing drink or bite to eat, Café Everyman is open from 9.30am until the evening interval and offers a selection of drinks, snacks, and hot or cold meals. Alternatively, head to the Circle Bar for a pre or post-show drink.

For more information call (01242) 572573, email admin@everymantheatre.org.uk or visit everymantheatre.org.uk – where you’ll also find a full programme of forthcoming performances.
