While having a hotel inspector to stay might strike fear into the hearts of hoteliers everywhere, the Cheltenham Regency Hotel clearly had nothing to worry about – scooping an impressive three AA stars and a rosette for The Regency Restaurant after a recent inspection.

The AA inspectors reported: ‘Recently refurbished throughout all areas, The Cheltenham Regency Hotel now provides high standards of quality and comfort. The large bedrooms, including several suites, are very well equipped and ideal for the business of leisure guest.’

Now under the guidance of head chef Robin Dudley – formerly of the renowned Mercure Queen’s Hotel Cheltenham – The Regency Restaurant also received acclaim in its own right during the inspection: ‘A good selection of carefully prepared dishes is available from either the extensive lounge/bar menu or a more formal offering utilising high quality produce can be found in the main restaurant.’

The recent news is a particular coup for the Cheltenham hotel and restaurant which has invested £2 million into extensive refurbishments, and general manager Jay Clements was delighted with the news: ‘All of our recent awards and achievements… are a just reward for all the effort and hard work put in by each and every member of the team. We see the awards as an excellent foundation on which to build an exciting future and look forward to welcoming our customers, both old and new, to try our new award winning hotel.’

See Cheltenham Regency Hotel and The Regency Restaurant for more information, and call (01242) 713226 to make a reservation.
