Travelodge opens at Gloucester Quays

News – Gloucester welcomed the arrival of its very own Travelodge this week, with a brand new hotel situated at Gloucester Quays.

While Gloucester Quays has been welcoming an array of established brands to its designer outlet over the last month, this week saw UK budget hotel chain Travelodge join the list – opening its first hotel in Gloucester.

The £3.8 million hotel was formerly opened by Gloucester’s mayor Councillor Chris Witts, with the 96-room venue featuring the budget chain’s latest contemporary room design – according to the company. Each room includes mood lighting with a red, blue and white colour scheme, a Hypnos king size bed, en suite bathroom, flat screen television and a range of other facilities.

There’s also a bar cafe serving ‘all you can eat’ full English breakfast from £5.99 when booked online, with under 15s eating free.

Carol Goode, Gloucester Travelodge Hotel’s manager, said: ‘I am extremely proud to be given the opportunity to run Gloucester’s first Travelodge. Given the pressures on everyone’s finances, there is a real demand for low cost accommodation in the area, and my team and I are looking forward to being able to provide it.’

To mark the formal opening, an art project was commissioned by the hotel for local primary school children to design their dream hotel. The resulting 53 pictures are exhibited in the hotel’s bar cafe for customers to view. A winning picture was also selected at the opening event by Gloucester’s mayor – with the young budding artist winning a weekend break for their family at a UK Travelodge of their choice.

For more information see Travelodge Gloucester Hotel or call the hotel on 0871 984 6427.
