With tickets for the Royal International Air Tattoo 2010 being snapped up, the new official RAF Yearbook, released this May, is sure to prove a popular page turner for event-goers of all ages.

The magazine-style yearbook has been published by the Cotswolds’ Royal Air Force Charitable Trust Enterprises, to coincide with this year’s air show, which will take place at Gloucestershire’s RAF Fairford on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 July 2010.

As well as a thrill-filled insight into special operations, new gadgets and deployments, it promises to include a special report from Afghanistan, exclusive access to the RAF’s front-line operational aircraft, and a free Battle of Britain DVD to boot – featuring first-hand accounts from veterans, and archive film footage.

The publication will feature a number of stunning images from global operations and events such as the arrival of the Tornado GR4 in Afghanistan, and interviews with the highly-revered Red Arrows’ newest recruits, Flight Lieutenant Kirsty Moore and Flight Lieutenant Ben Plank.

Chief of air staff Sir Stephen Dalton will also take pride of place within the 120-page publication, revealing to readers his vision for the 21st Century Royal Air Force.

While this latest edition will mark the end of an era for one aviation enthusiast, author and photographer, who has edited the magazine for over 20 years. Peter March said of his time with the publication: ‘It has been a great privilege to have been managing editor for 23 years, during which time there have been many notable and exciting events that we have been able to feature in our own unique way in the yearbook.’

The Official RAF Yearbook 2010 is on sale at WHSmith, Tesco and all good newsagents, priced at just £4.99.
