The Dick Whittington is a historic city centre pub and restaurant, dubbed ‘the home of real ale’ in Gloucester, which is also home to The Black Cat Bar.

Set in a 15th century former merchant’s house, the lively venue plays host to everything from fundraising discos and Mad Hatter’s tea parties to karaoke and live music nights.

While the bar is proud to serve local ales from Gloucester Brewery and Mitcheldean’s Bespoke Brewing Co, alongside regular favourites such as Bombadier and its very own Harry Chapman’s ale – not forgetting up to four heritage ciders at any one time, plus soft and hot drinks too.

Diners can expect good pub grub seven days a week at The Dick Whittington, from light bites and fresh salads to combo platters, Sunday roasts and mains including Gloucester Old Spot bangers and mash, chicken wellington and slow roasted pork belly.

With friendly staff, a vibrant atmosphere and entertainment spanning quizzes, pool, darts, poker and board games all offered within a hop and a skip away from the likes of Kingsholm Stadium and Gloucester Cathedral, it’s no wonder The Dick Whittington is a popular haunt for locals and tourists.
