Ross & Ross Food launches crowdfunding appeal

Cotswold catering company Ross & Ross Food is set to launch an exciting crowdfunding appeal to help transform a horsebox into a mobile bar.

Cotswold catering company, Ross & Ross Food, is set to add another string to its bow with an exciting new add-on service that will see a horsebox transformed into a mobile bar – and they’re looking for your support.

The business, which was founded in 2011 by Ross Whitmill and Ross Bearman, is launching a crowdfunding appeal to help raise the £15,000 needed to convert the horsebox into an innovative new bar concept.

The campaign will run from Sunday 29 October till Sunday 26 November 2017, and will invite foodies to pledge a variety of different monetary amounts in return for a range of rewards, spanning bespoke hampers, private dining at home and the chance to have a cocktail created just for you.

The new venture marks an exciting development for the award-winning business, which specialises in events and wedding catering, along with creating handmade British food gifts that are stocked in delis and food halls around the country.

Co-director of Ross & Ross Food, Ross Whitmill, said: ‘We think one of the areas we can extend our business is by offering more add-on services and a bar at weddings and events is a perfect complimentary addition. We provide beautiful food for our clients, so it makes sense that we provide the drinks too. We’ve run a few this year and they’ve been a lot of fun.’

The plan is to convert the inside of the box to include three fridges, a couple of sinks, electricity connection, a portable generator, shelving, and an espresso machine for creating those all-important espresso martinis!

Peter, the new bar manager, is looking forward to getting the new venture up and running and out on the road: ‘We’re really excited about this adventure, my dad is going to help fit it out and our aim is to be ready for May 2018 and in time for next wedding season.’
