7 day out destinations to make the most of Stagecoach West's bargain £2 bus fares

With Stagecoach West offering discounted single bus fares of just £2 until March 2023, make the most of it and hop on board for a fun family day out in the south west.

Stagecoach West has discounted single fares to just £2 until Friday 31 March 2023, giving passengers across Gloucestershire the chance to enjoy a day out for less. 

Whether you're heading out into the woods, keeping little ones entertained or looking to soak up a spot of culture, hop on board a Stagecoach West bus from Gloucestershire and enjoy bargain bus travel to one of these fantastic destinations.

Visit Gloucester by bus

Boasting one of the county's most iconic sights, Gloucester Cathedral; fantastic discounts on designer and High Street fashion at Gloucester Quays; inspiring exhibitions at the Museum of Gloucester; live music, comedy, theatre and cinema at Gloucester Guildhall; sporting action at Kingsholm stadium and so much more, there are plenty of reasons to take advantage of Stagecoach's £2 bus fares and enjoy a day out in Gloucester.

Hop on the 10 or 94 service from Cheltenham; the 62 or 63 from Stroud; or services 23, 24 or 33 from the Forest of Dean. 

Visit Cirencester by bus

Steeped in Roman history, Cirencester is a fantastic day out for both families and culture vultures. Discover the area's fascinating history at the Corinium Museum; take in an exhibition or try your hand at a craft workshop at New Brewery Arts; pick up a picnic from the Corn Hall Deli and take a picturesque stroll around Cirencester Park; or enjoy popping into a plethora of independent shops while you soak in the gorgeous architecture all around.

Visitors can get to Cirencester direct from Cheltenham on the 51 service.

Visit the Forest of Dean by bus

With lush ancient woodlands all around, loads of family attractions to keep little ones entertained and outdoor pursuits aplenty, there are so many reasons to spend a day in the Forest of Dean.

Jump on board the 23, 24 or 33 from Gloucester and head off on an adventure, exploring the likes of the colourful Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail; taking to the trees at Go Ape at Beechenhurst or Mallards Pike; experiencing the magic of Puzzlewood; heading underground at Clearwell Caves; and even travelling back in time with a trip to Norchard Station on the Dean Forest Railway

From its famous farmers market to the spectacular natural beauty all around, Stroud is a glorious place to spend some time - and with a big focus on eco-conscious and environmentally friendly living, getting there by bus is the ideal option, with the 62, 63 and 66 services going to Stroud from Cheltenham and Gloucester. 

Start the day with a trip to the farmer's market for the freshest produce you can find; shop to your heart's content with swathes of independent shops selling products you won't find anywhere else; wander Rodborough and Minchinhampton commons, flying kites or looking for cows; make a splash at Stratford Park's outdoor pool; tuck into artisan street food at the Five Valleys Shopping Centre's Indoor Market; enjoy a refreshing pint of organic beer at Stroud Brewery; or head to The Sub Rooms for a gig. 

Visit Bath by bus

For days out further afield, hop on board the 620 or the 69 from Stroud and spend a day in beautiful Bath.

From iconic sights like Bath Abbey and the Pulteney Bridge to fun family attractions including Mary Shelley's House of Frankenstein; the Jane Austen Centre; the Victoria Art Gallery; and of course, the spectacular Roman Baths, there's plenty to do. There's also the Thermae Bath Spa for a relaxing, adults-only day out in the spa town. 

Visit Oxford by bus

With Stagecoach West's S2 service providing a direct bus from Cheltenham to Oxford, it's never been easier - or cheaper - to take a trip to the city of dreaming spires. 

There's magnificent architecture to spot around every corner, from the Bridge of Sighs to the Radcliffe Camera, not to mention inspirational attractions like the Oxford University Museum of Natural History, the Ashmolean and the Pitt Rivers Museum. The enchanting Story Museum is perfect for little ones, providing interactive fun for children of all ages; while the bravest souls won't want to miss a trip to Oxford Castle and Prison, where they can discover the city's grizzly history and enjoy panoramic views from the top of the tower.

Visit Swindon by bus

Take the 51 from Cheltenham to Swindon and shop until you drop at Swindon Designer Outlet, with discounted bus fare giving you more pennies to play with.

Or for families, take little train enthusiasts to the STEAM Museum of the Great Western Railway to see vintage locomotives on a day trip to the Wiltshire town.
