Expect an explosion of activity when the BBC Blast truck rolls into Gloucester Park on Thursday 21 August 2008, when for three days young people aged 13 to 19 can get involved with an array of free activities run by industry professionals.
The BBC Blast truck converts into an impressive mobile e-learning studio with a performance marquee, offering teenagers from across Gloucestershire an opportunity to explore a variety of workshops and showcase events, as well as free activities.
Some of the exciting workshops on offer over the three days include rapping with Akala; DJing and MCing with DJ Fade; animation; filmmaking; deconstructed fashion; digital photography; radio production; street dancing and more. There will also be the chance to meet and work with BBC industry professionals, so the young participants can get the best tips about their future careers from real people in-the-know.
The events culminate on Saturday 16 August 2008 with the Blast Talent Showcase, when all the films, music, dance and radio pieces created at Blast will be performed and screened, so visitors can get to see the finest of Gloucester’s emerging talent.
