Today is the day for the SoGlos Gloucestershire Business Awards 2022

There's not long to wait to find out who will walk away with the top honours from this year’s SoGlos Gloucestershire Business Awards 2022, sponsored by Willans LLP solicitors and Hazlewoods, with all to be revealed at the exciting awards evening very soon.

Winners from last year's inaugural SoGlos Gloucestershire Business Awards 2021. Just who will be following them on stage this year will be revealed on Thursday 20 October 2022.

Businesses, staff and individual entrepreneurs in the running for the SoGlos Gloucestershire Business Awards 2022 will find out if they will be crowned an SGGBA winner on Thursday 20 October 2022.

The finalists (see a full list below) and those on the exclusive guest list will gather at the University of Gloucestershire’s Business School at Oxstalls campus  for an evening that will celebrate everyone who made the shortlist.

Judges whittled down hundreds of entries that only underlined the depth of business talent in the county, with the final winners revealed in 22 categories by compere and BBC journalist Steve Knibbs on the night, and all the results also shared live on SoGlos's Twitter account, with a full report on SoGlos and LinkedIn immediately after the event - follow the hashtag #SGGBA for the very latest.

The roll-call of honour announced on the night will include the headline-grabbing Business of the Year award, made possible by the headline sponsors for the event, law firm Willans LLP solicitors and accountants and business experts Hazelwood.

James Fyrne, managing director of SoGlos, a business he co-founded 15 years ago with now group editor Michelle Fyrne, said: ‘We received a staggering 382 nominations from 178 different companies, which we spent a week reviewing to draw up the shortlist.’

Chris Wills, a partner at Willans LLP solicitors, said: ‘You think you know all the businesses there are to know in Gloucestershire – then you get a list like this and realise there are still so many fantastic businesses out there doing fantastic things whose stories you have yet to hear.’

Ryan Hancock, a director of the corporate services team at Hazlewoods, said: ‘The number and diversity of the nominations, which include many new names, just goes to show how business in Gloucestershire is not only healthy but thriving.

'I’m very much looking forward to meeting the people who are driving them forward and will be following their progress with interest.’

BBC reporter and Points West presenter Steve Knibbs will be revealing the winners again at this year's SGGBA 2022 awards.

The Gloucestershire Business School, also home to The Growth Hub, GFirst LEP and the Start and Grow Enterprise, will be dressed and prepared for the showcase evening by our partners Oasis Events, with sound and lighting by county-based PR Production Services.

Drinks for guests will be supplied by Cheltenham's Neptune Rum, with food from the Wild Pizza Company. With Gloucester Brewery also a partner
