Caffe Nero is firmed to move into the former Joules building on Cheltenham Promenade.

Coffee fans will be delighted to hear that despite the announced closure of Cavendish House, the department store's much-loved Caffe Nero has found a new home — moving into the former Joules building on Cheltenham Promenade, opposite Neptune's Fountain.

Joules closed its Cheltenham branch back in December 2022 as part of a £34 million rescue deal in partnership with retail rival Next.

The new coffee shop at the Grade II premises will be the third Caffe Nero in Cheltenham, with one currently located on the high street, and another being approved out-of-town at the former premises of Hillary's Blinds at the Gateway Retail Park on Tewkesbury Road.

In documents submitted to Cheltenham Borough Council, the brand stated that the latest Caffe Nero is set to be 'a place where customers can grab a coffee or snack while feeling assured and comfortable with a well-known recognisable brand'.

The espresso bar will be split over two floors, seating 104 guests in total, and featuring classic Caffe Nero rustic light oak timber furnishings throughout, with more details yet to be confirmed.

As well as offering its premium award-winning Italian coffee, visitors can expect a warm and welcoming atmosphere and good food, too, with menu favourites such as its range of rich buttery pastries, paninis, tostatis and focaccias, as well as salads, soups and hot pots, sweet treats and snacks.

An opening date is yet to be confirmed.
