Cotswold Olimpick Games 2011 video
Before the London Olympics kick off in 2012, the Cotswolds played host to its very own Olimpick Games in Chipping Campden, with the British shin kicking championships proving particularly popular.
Thousands of spectators gathered on Dover’s Hill in Chipping Campden on Friday 3 June 2011 for the annual Robert Dover’s Cotswold Olimpick Games 2011.
Combining unlikely obstacle races, tug-o-war battles, and of course the British shin kicking championships, SoGlos.com caught all the action at the annual event for your viewing pleasure.

The popular Gloucestershire custom is a highlight of the summer events calendar, attracting film crews from around the world as well as celebrity attention – including that of comedian Adrian Edmondson this year.
The warm summer’s evening also helped attract crowds of thousands from across Gloucestershire – with competitors travelling from as far afield as Australia to take part in the unique event.
With 2012 coinciding with London’s hosting of the official Olympic Games, as well as marking the 400th anniversary of the Cotswold Olimpicks, next summer’s event is set to be huge. Register for SoGlos.com’s free email newsletter for the very latest.
