The first year of the awards, held in 2018, culminated in an exciting new awards event format at the historic Blackfriars prior in Gloucester, while in 2019 it was the spectacular Gloucester Cathedral which played host to the SGGLA event and celebrations.
Despite the coronavirus pandemic, there was no stopping SGGLA in 2020, with an innovative virtual awards event held via Facebook Live, providing some much needed positivity in what was a particularly challenging year for Gloucestershire businesses.
The date and venue have already been set for SGGLA 2021, on Thursday 21 October 2021 at Cheltenham Ladies’ College, when we hope to see the annual highlight return to its real life-format, providing the perfect chance to celebrate Gloucestershire’s businesses with new optimism and vigour!

Forget stuffy awards events and sit down dinners. Instead, expect a relaxed party atmosphere complete with a chance to meet other businesses and network, supper and drinks on arrival, before the live reveal kicks off at 8pm. This informal structure is at the core of the SGGLA success, having caught the attention of the county’s businesses and SoGlos readers.
The headline sponsor will receive 10 tickets, category sponsors four tickets, and shortlisted businesses will each receive two tickets.
To make SGGLA as inclusive as possible for all the shortlisted businesses, sponsors and partners – and to work within the size limitations of the special venues we’re working with each year – numbers are very limited and we are unlikely to be able to offer addition tickets.
