Gloucestershire families and vintage train enthusiasts will soon be able to take a ride on the Dean Forest Railway again, when it reopens on Saturday 1 August 2020.
Trains will begin running on the four-and-a-half-mile Forest of Dean railway line for the first time since lockdown began in March 2020.
Visitors are encouraged to book tickets online to guarantee their journey, face masks must be worn, and only groups of between two and eight people will be able to travel together, in order to maintain safe social distancing between groups on board.
Day rover tickets will not be offered as all tickets will have a specific timeslot to manage passenger numbers. Unfortunately, dogs will not be permitted on trains for the time being, with the exception of guide dogs.
The Dean Forest Railway has five stops along the line offering the chance to explore the local woodland, visit the Severn estuary or stop off in one of the many country pubs nearby.
