Sunday 24 July 2022
Editor's ChoiceFamilies can kick off the summer holidays with a spot of alfresco theatre, as Heartbreak Productions brings its stage adaptation of David Walliams’s bestselling story, Awful Auntie, to Eastnor Castle.
Coming to Eastnor’s outdoor stage on Sunday 24 July 2022, audiences will follow Stella, the heir to Saxby Hall after her parents’ tragic death, as she evades her awful Aunt Alberta who is determined to take her inheritance from her.
Expect owls, ghosts and thrilling chase scenes as Stella tries to outwit her evil auntie and save her family home, in this fun-filled production on Eastnor’s pretty Lower Terrace.
Ticketholders can make the most of the popular attraction, too, with access to the castle grounds from 10.30am – giving families plenty of time for adventure before the performance starts at 3pm.
Children will have heaps of fun getting lost in the Knight’s Maze, tackling the junior obstacle course and flying on rope swings, with families able to enjoy any event or activity that’s being held at Eastnor on the day as well.
Access to the castle isn’t included, but explorers can upgrade their ticket on the day should they wish to go inside.
Awful Auntie is suitable for children aged seven and up and will run for approximately two hours, including an interval.
There’s no seating, so audiences are advised to bring their own blankets and low-backed chairs to sit on – as well as waterproofs or sun cream, depending on the weather! Guests are welcome to bring their own picnics, too.
Tickets are available to book online at eastnorcastle.com/awful-auntie.
