The Magical World of William Simmonds is coming to Museum of Gloucester this autumn.

Visitors are invited to step inside a magical world crafted by local artist, puppeteer and woodcarver William Simmonds from Saturday 12 October 2019 to Saturday 18 April 2020.

Suitable for all ages to enjoy, The Magical World of William Simmonds: Puppets and Paintings gives visitors the chance to discover everything from the circus to an enchanting woodland, by delving inside the imagination of Simmonds through his work.

A rare chance to see hidden gems from Simmonds, the exhibition will also feature work from artists of the time, creating an insight into Gloucester’s artistic community back in the 20th century.

Even better, the exhibition will show what is thought to be one of Simmonds’ only oil paintings in a public exhibition.
