A specially curated performance by Wise & Wayward Theatre celebrates the moon’s magic in Shakespeare’s work this October 2025, as part of 'Museum of the Moon' at Tewkesbury Abbey.

Widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language, hear the beauty of Shakespeare's words beneath the serene glow of the moon this October.

In a spellbinding blend of theatre, art and architecture, step into Tewkesbury Abbey on Thursday 30 and Friday 31 October 2025 from 7.30pm for Shakespeare by Moonlight — an intimate, atmospheric performance beneath Luke Jerram’s 'Museum of the Moon'.

In collaboration with Wise & Wayward Theatre, these specially curated scenes celebrate the moon’s magic in Shakespeare’s works, spanning romance and mystery to mischief and magic.

Each performance takes place in the round under the glow of the seven-metre installation, suspended beneath the Abbey's gothic arches.

Ideal for both seasoned Shakespeare lovers and those new to his works, Shakespeare by Moonlight promises two evenings full of wonder, reflection and community.
