Classical fans and jazz buffs can escape to the Gloucestershire countryside to enjoy world-class chamber music performed by some of the most talented and critically acclaimed young musicians of their generation, when Elmore Festival returns this summer.
While considered one of county's hidden cultural gems, the musical celebration is back for its sixth year, having steadily established itself as a prominent event among UK chamber festivals since launching in August 2020, expanding each year and welcoming an ever-growing roll of talented artists and ensembles.
Taking place from Wednesday 6 to Saturday 9 August 2025, expect recitals across four days in the beautifully preserved, 13th-century landmark of St John the Baptist Church.
This year's programme features multi-award-winning NOVO Quartet, violinist Braimah Kanneh-Mason, the prize-winning Elmore Quartet, pianist Ben Powell, double bassist Toby Hughes, organist Henry Fairs, clarinettist James Gilbert and the Scottie Thompson Jazz Trio.
And after 2024's sold-out jazz evening, it's back again — so whether you're a jazz lover or listening for the first time, expect rich rhythms, bold improvisation and an electric atmosphere when it takes over the outdoor marquee.
Alongside the musical merriment, The Festival Bar — in partnership with Gloucester’s award-winning Pelican Inn — will be on hand to provide thirsty revellers with a selection of local ciders and freshly brewed cask ales from the Wye Valley Brewery.
Encouraging the next generation to soak up the atmosphere and explore chamber music, the festival offers free tickets to all under-25s.
All other ticket prices vary per performance.
