Gloucestershire kids have a wonderful excuse to get messy this February half term, with a week of mud-themed fun at Slimbridge Wetland Centre.
What is Mudfest at Slimbridge Wetland Centre?
Mudfest brings daily self-led activities, suitable for all ages, to the wetland reserve this school holiday, encouraging families to play with mud and connect with nature as they learn about its benefits for wildlife.
Bring your wellies for a good splash about in the muddy puddles and try your best to hit the target in a messy mudslinging contest, to see who can score the most points!
Learn how to sculpt your own wetland bird using clay and natural minerals, just like the ones living at Slimbridge.
And there's a mud kitchen where kids can create their own muddy recipes using pots, pans and clean soil. Mud pie, anyone?
With plenty more to discover, spanning more than 100 acres of wildlife habitats, kids will also love splashing about in Welly Boot Land, learning all about Slimbridge's cutest residents at its popular daily otter talks and watching the wild winter birds be fed from the Peng Observatory.
