Join Mole, Ratty, Badger and the ever-mischievous Mr Toad as they take a journey through friendship, mischief and the great outdoors in a whimsical adaptation of The Wind in the Willows at Berkeley Castle this August 2025.
A joyous outdoor theatre experience awaits on Sunday 10 August at the remarkable Berkeley Castle, brought to audiences by The Paperback Theatre Company.
Touring up and down the country, The Paperback Theatre Company's performances are as interactive and wacky as they are heartwarming and artful.
Set on the castle's picturesque Lower Lawn, Kenneth Grahame's classic story is brought to life in the great outdoors and presents a great day out for families of all ages.
With shows at 11.45am and 2pm, guests can relax with a picnic and take in the charm of live storytelling beneath the summer sky.
Berkeley Castle, completed in the late 12th century and home to the Berkeley family since 1153, has played host to a variety of events over the years and plenty of battles over the centuries, making it one of the most fascinating buildings in the UK — with Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn and Elizabeth I all past visitors.
And with the Wind in the Willows production included with standard admission, with children priced at £8 per person; adults at £16; and £45 for family of two adults and two children, the event offers a wonderful way to explore the historic grounds before or after making summer memories in a gorgeous, impressive setting.
